The hoodie as used as a modern day shield, in effect a way to become faceless in a society obsessed with defining our identity by face alone. In complete contrast to the selfie, the persona is easily masked, replaced with a dark facade, frequently foreboding and always enigmatic. This portrait using grainy B&W to emphasise the darker side from an outsiders perspective.
The Capture:
Sidelit with a single softbox from the subjects left with just enough angle to catch the eye on the shadowed side.
